Injuryboard Attorney Scott Smith recently blogged about an Ohio woman that was lucky to escape with her life after her car was pancaked in a truck accident in West Virginia. Her car was crushed by an overturned and jackknifed tractor-trailer and she was lucky to walk away without serious injury.

Most drivers involved in accidents with trucks are not so lucky. Every week in America, more than 100 people lose their lives, and hundreds more are mangled, in highway accidents involving trucks. In many instances the accidents are caused by Truckers who fall asleep at the wheel after driving for too many hours, drivers that are not properly trained and licensed, or drivers that are under the influence.

When driving on the highways, it makes good sense to give trucks their space and when you observe erratic driving by a big rig vehicle, let the authorities know.
