Ohio citizens need to diligently follow the actions or inactions of their elected officials. If the end of 2006 is any indication, the current Republican – controlled Legislature in Ohio will gleefully sacrifice the rights of Ohio citizens in favor of any pro-business legislation.
This Republican band has no regard for the Ohio Supreme Court decisions nor the ideals of newly elected Governor Ted Strickland, a governor who was handsomely elected to send a message to crooked republicans that Ohio won’t take the past scandals any longer.
One would think that the Leglislature would get the message, but the most recent deal cutting and sell out legislation at the end of 2006 only indicates that Republican legislators look forward to business as usual in 2007. Voters need to oust the sell outs and replace them with fair minded officials.
