The current scandal arising out of the human tissue industry has caused a great deal of concern among funeral homes. Now, further illegal conduct is alleged to have occurred within the funeral industry and is raising more concern.

A judge in New Hampshire has certified a class action lawsuit against a crematorium as a result of numerous families claiming the facility mishandled, mislabeled, and mistreated their loved ones remains. The suit includes claims of negligence, misrepresentation and consumer protection violations.

One client in particular, Michael Ellis, has had his wife’s remains analyzed and found they include orthopedic hardware and jewelry that did not belong to her,” said lawyer Chris Grant, who is representing the plaintiffs.
The suit involves at least 25 plaintiffs at the moment.
