After receiving publicity as a result of giving lethal doses of a drug to three premature babies, an Indiana hospital is again in the news as a result of another error. This time an anesthisiologist who works at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, gave a patient pain medication ten times faster than intended, causing temporary paralysis in the patient. The medication was in the form of an epidural the patient received during child birth. The medication pump used to time release the pain medication was improperly programmed giving the expectant mother ten hours worth of pain medication in just one hour.
