Certain batches of Lemon Cookies are being recalled by Little Brownie Bakers, one of two bakeries that bake Girl Scout Cookies.

The recall was prompted by consumer complaints that the cookies had an odd smell and off-taste. According to a news release on the Little Brownie Bakers Web site, the company found no traces of bacteria.

“Certain lots of Lemon Chalet Crème cookies contain oils that may be breaking down which can result in an off smell and taste,” the statement said.

The Little Brownie Bakers Web site contains a list of affected cookie batches. Councils that received these batches should return any product inventory in their control to the company.

Thankfully, favorites such as Samoas and Thin Mints are not affected by the recall.
